Islip Arts Council offers two annual seasonal exhibitions exclusively for their Members to showcase their talent.
Shades of Blue invites IAC member artists to explore the beauty, depth, and emotion of the color blue. From the tranquil tones of a clear sky and the vastness of the ocean to the richness of deep indigo and the softness of pale blue hues, this exhibition seeks artwork that captures the many moods, meanings, and interpretations of this captivating color. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme broadly, embracing both realistic and imaginative approaches across all mediums.
This exhibition celebrates blue as a color of reflection, serenity, mystery, and expression. Whether depicting the movement ot ocean waves, the stillness ot a winter sky, abstract explorations of color and texture, or personal interpretations of what blue represents, submitted works should evoke a sense of atmosphere and feeling.
